Николай Некрасов

Nikolay Alekseevich Nekrasov (1821-1877) is a Russian poet who marked the new stage of development of Russian realistic poetry. The innovative principles of poetry were embodied in the poem “Who Lives Well in Russia,” in which representatives of almost all classes, social groups and professions in Russia of that time are shown. In line with the trends of the "natural school" Nekrasov sought to democratize the content of the lyrics, drawing scenes of life of the urban and rural "lower classes" (the cycle "On the Street", the poem "The Forgotten Village").
