That Bad Boys II duplicate has now been renamed.

I re-named my duplicate for BURN-E as well.

I seem to have added a duplicate. I added The Good, the Bad and the Ugly under its English title. Then I realized I was supposed to use the Italian title, changed it, and another version appeared.
The original version:
https://www.filmo.gs/film/5369-Il-Buono-Il-Brutto-Il-Cattivo
(No credits, so I didn't see it when I checked Leone, Eastwood, etc.)

The version I added:
https://www.filmo.gs/film/41554-Il-Buono-Il-Brutto-Il-Cattivo

Never mind, I transferred the new info to the original and changed the new entry to the 1966 Django.

I've changed https://www.filmo.gs/film/63991-Django-Unchained

to

Django Strikes Again (1987)

Correct
https://www.filmo.gs/film/41550-Per-Qualche-Dollaro-In-Piu

Duplicate
https://www.filmo.gs/film/136987-For-A-Few-Dollars-More

I don't want to be a jerk with the admins but they are many duplicates from a while back that haven't been deleted.

Ok I found out how you can remove a duplicate, you just click on edit. Remove all information, change the title, and turn it in a new film.

It is briefly mentioned at the top of the topic, but most of us didn't pay attention.

I find this extremely lame, I think the admin should have an option to remove the film completely and not us figuring what film hasn't been added yet...

It is currently easy to find film that haven't been added because they are still major stars who still have almost nothing in their filmography, but once it is done and we have to look in the sewers of Cinema to replace a film it becomes ridiculous.

I have personally removed the duplicate Wall E, Alien 3, and D-Tox. I have turned them into random John Wayne movies that weren't there before. In the case of D-Tox updated the original page with extra info the other contributor added.

Took care of all the duplicates.

Thanks for the conscientious deduplication BarryWallace and sorry that we have not followed this thread actively enough. We will try to do better. We do have duplicate merging functionality for the admins, but reusing those entries for new ones is just as valid.

Staff needs to remove all the invalid company listings.

Merged, thanks EK_

I found the next duplicate:

https://www.filmo.gs/film/22419-Bedtime-Stories
https://www.filmo.gs/film/88033-Bedtime-Stories

I don't know (at the moment) how to solve this, because both have releases.

Newbie just added This Is England twice, while it was already in there.

Original:
https://www.filmo.gs/film/66148-This-Is-England

Duplicate:
https://www.filmo.gs/film/145835-This-Is-England
https://www.filmo.gs/film/145833-This-Is-England

Not sure if this should have it's own entry as a film:
The release is a collection of pixar shorts.
https://www.filmo.gs/film/145993-Pixas-Short-Films-Collection-1

As far as I know are the movies never released as a "stand-alone" movie. They were bonus material on Pixar releases. It's a difficult one I know, but I think this collection together is a film.

This might not be the correct thread for this, but I've felt that it is odd to list a television series as a FILM and also its individual episodes as FILMS.

Compilation releases, such as the Pixar Short Films Collections, shouldn't be listed as a FILM. The individual shorts contained SHOULD be listed as FILMS, I suppose, and the physical RELEASE linked to each.

merged those oteis and remco2502, thanks for the heads up

Fixed that one, thanks EK_

It was my fault, but I got also 2 "internal server error" when I tried to add a release:

https://www.filmo.gs/release/142859-The-Da-Vinci-Code
https://www.filmo.gs/release/142860-The-Da-Vinci-Code

hey remco2502, fixed the former and merged the latter with it. This problem appears when the "add a film" option has been clicked but no film information has been entered. Am looking into fixing it so at least the page will display properly so the information can be fixed. Apologies for the trouble.

Hello Kalli, I entered all information for the film "The Da Vinci Code" but when I wanted to save it there was an internal server error. I pushed the back page button on Firefox and then the submission was showed again.

Thanks for the information remco2502, very helpful, will try to diagnose and fix this problem.

148069-Le-salaire-de-la-peur

is a dupe of

7350-Le-salaire-de-la-peur

that I added mistakenly when creating the release

148078-Wages-of-Fear

which should be a release of 7350

Fixed and merged, thanks imipolex_ and EK_.

I tried to add a release, but everytime I want to save the submission the "Internal Server Error" appeared. All info was filled in correctly, but now it's lost :-(

https://www.filmo.gs/release/148719-1-image-Jeff-Dunham-Spark-Of-Insanity
https://www.filmo.gs/release/148718-1-image-Jeff-Dunham-Spark-Of-Insanity
https://www.filmo.gs/release/148716-1-image-Jeff-Dunham-Spark-Of-Insanity

Fixed and merged remco2502, thanks.

https://www.filmo.gs/release/148716-1-image-Jeff-Dunham-Spark-Of-Insanity

What's causing this internal server error is releases with empty "film" attributes. Until we fix the bug one way to fix the entries is to add "/edit" to the url and go in and remove the empty "film" attribute and update the submission.

Fixed, merged and deleted. Thanks EK_

Hey, any way to delete all of those FORUM posts for the illegal downloads? Most of those "contributors" have new discogs accounts with zero content. My opinion, boot those people out.

Hi EK_, apologies for the inconvenience with those posts. They've been deleted and accounts banned.
I'll be keeping a close eye on the forums and submissions for now, and we'll be looking at ways to mitigate this in future. Thanks for your patience!

merged the Marriage of Maria Braun duplicate. Thanks for the heads up oteis.

But wondering if the other one: https://www.filmo.gs/film/159448-The-BRD-Trilogy-The-Marriage-of-Maria-Braun-Veronika-Voss-Lola

Isn't really a duplicate of this release https://www.filmo.gs/film/159448-The-BRD-Trilogy-The-Marriage-of-Maria-Braun-Veronika-Voss-Lola

There should be an easier way of merging duplicate credits that have titles underneath them. This is the same guy; there's no Tom McGrath (2). Yet I had to hand merge all the titles under the incorrect credit into the correct one. It took over an hoalf an hour. It should be simpler.

Apologies, this is a failure in communication on our part. You do not have to move titles or any linked entities over by hand, our merging functionality does that automatically. All the films that link to a duplicate credit will be moved to the original credit when we merge them. So just report them in the applicable thread. Sorry about the time wasted, but we appreciate the data diligence.

It would be nice if there was a checklist of all the reported duplicates (films/releases/credits/companies) and a their status (deleted/merged/etc.)

Or maybe instead of FORUM threads that may slip through the cracks, have a reporting system for users to flag the above items - sends directly to developers AND generates a user searchable list of all reported entries.

This could also be used to flag releases that need additional data or actual images of items (not online retailer sourced images...)

sound.and.vision, I can see why you think that those shouldn't be valid entries. But here's what I think about it: there could possibly be more versions of those releases, but we don't know that for sure. Who knows? There very well could be a laserdisc version of those videos for all we know. That's why I think the film pages should stay.

However, I do agree that there should be the separate pages for the music videos, as they aren't specific to any one compilation or release. They appear on many from my understanding. I believe that all of those should be attached to those releases, and I don't see anything in the wiki saying it shouldn't be like that either.

Also a side note concerning your submission notes. It says that you were adding the music videos to fit filmogs guidelines, as per the music genre release. Since when? Where does it say that? I certainly don't see that in the wiki, and I would have no idea where to look for it in the forums either if it even exists. A citiation would help.

Thank you.

For Deadwood HBO television series, there appeared to be two very brief film entries for them. I cleaned up one of them and added a more complete cast list, and I added the German title as an alternative title that was in the second entry. Probably should get rid of the second entry here:

elvis marked sensitive, that's funny

Are these two duplicate film entries for the same series (Dinotopia)? Though they both point to different IMDB entries for different sets of shows (one being a sequel of the other) but both with the same name. It seems like they are both part of the same series, but perhaps not? It's not like a real different spinoff series the way Torchwood was to Doctor Who, etc.

Original Dinotopia in 2002.

"Sequel" series starting later in 2002 going on to 2003...

I fixed the first one and added the missing cast members from IMDB (only crew members listd here before).

Heck I just created this now since search didn't find the first entry when typing "Deja Vu" instead of "Déjà Vu" Would be helpful if "é" is equivalenced to "e". Go ahead and get rid of the one I just created.

The second looks to intend to be an episode of History vs. Hollywood, but doesn't appear to have any releases pointing to this episode appropriately. The only one is another episode of the Last Samurai film which should be in the first film and not the second.

Woops, just created a duplicate film entry. Thought that "The 10th Victim" wasn't in the database, but after seeing the aliases to add, I noted that the film was already in there under the Italian name, and there were no English titled releases associated with it like the one I'm adding. As an added feature, it might help to find a way to tweak the search by providing an option to search the alias entries of each film too to avoid this problem that others might have that will create other duplicates too.

no they still show 2 of the same.

My bad on that, I saw they had the same year and the film wasnt listed as a feature, really should have looked at the links.

I've been going through the TV shows adding key info that's missing, mostly adding a country of origin as well as links.

Anyway stumbled onto a couple more.

i allready brought that one up in another fourm but its great to have it here too

I see sometimes I have a film with a corrected release date. In the past, I went with the date showing up at the top of the IMDB listing for an entry. For many or most TV series, usually what shows at the top is the range of years and not the first showing date of the first episode. Perhaps i many cases the specific date when a first episode aired is not documented well enough, or perhaps IMDB is just putting the range of years a series airs and not the release date in the case of TV series. It looks like we want the latter in terms of looking further down for the first date of the airing of an episode?

I've also seen sometimes incosistency even in IMDB in the case of feature films on what they show at the top in terms of a date and the actual date the film was first shown. It appears that IMDB in many cases ignores showings at events like film festivals, etc. and puts in the date of the first public showing when a general audience can get a ticket for their date at the top in most cases. Perhaps a good definition for what is considered the "release date" for filmogs entries should be, so that people can know which date to put in newer film record entries from external sourcees.

Created a duplicate film myself earlier, to later add an American release of "Turkish Delight" that is the more well known title here for this film. Didn't find anything for the Dutch original title of "Türkische Früchte" instead of "Turkish Fruit" before creating the duplicate. Updated the original film entry with newer and additional cast info I put on the duplicate, and put the original Dutch title on it. Please keep the original here:

Ouch. I just created a duplicate when it appears another earlier film was created for the same film but not with the original title ("Modern Vampires") as noted by imdb. Not sure what to do.
